It is moved that THE NORTHWEST COUNCIL APPROVE THE PROPOSED FY2025 NORTHWEST COUNCIL BUDGET AND SUBMIT THE PROPOSED BUDGET TO THE SPEEA EXECUTIVE BOARD FOR CONSIDERATION AND INCORPORATION INTO THE SPEEA BUDGET.

01/12/2023 SPEEA Revision to SPEEA Bylaws Section 2.1.1

It is moved: To publicize a proposed revision of SPEEA Bylaws Section 2.1.1 as follows:

2.1.1. Addition of Bargaining Units

The addition of any bargaining unit(s) consisting of employees of Boeing, Boeing wholly-owned subsidiaries, Boeing joint ventures or successor employers shall require authorization by the SPEEA Council. The addition of any bargaining unit(s) consisting of employees in the Engineering, Technical & Scientific Community which does not contain either Boeing, Boeing wholly-owned subsidiary, Boeing joint venture or successor employees shall require the SPEEA Council to initiate a referendum to the membership per the requirements of the SPEEA Constitution.

Prior to filing with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), each distinct organizing effort for a new Bargaining Unit will be approved by the SPEEA Council.

03/09/2023 SPEEA Proposed FY2024 SPEEA Fiscal Year Budget It is moved:  THE SPEEA COUNCIL CONCURS WITH THE SPEEA FISCAL YEAR 2024 BUDGET.

04/13/2023 NW SPEEA 101 for New Members It is moved that: The NW Council recommends the Executive Board to reconsider awarding a gift card of $50 to all new SPEEA members in good standing, including interns, who attend a “SPEEA 101 workshop” at Ttukwila or Everett SPEEA hall, or at any Boeing Portland buildings. The member must be within one year of the date of hire or transfer into a SPEEA unit, or were hired from March 1, 2020 through the end of 2022, they can be awarded a gift card, provided they attend SPEEA 101 before the end of 2023. The SPEEA Executive Board will determine the gift card brand.

Furthermore, speea members who have previously attended a SPEEA 101 in 2023 to receive a $50 gift card, to align the gift card value given out prior to March 1, 2020.
05/09/2023 SPEEA FY2024 SPEEA Budget It is moved the NW Council Treasurer on behalf of the Members Activities Committee requests that the fiscal year 2024 NW budget be amended to subtract $1,000.00 from line item 2.4.1, “Golf Tournament” and create new line item 2.4.8. for “100 Mariners merchandise gift cards”, for a total $1,000.00. The request represents a $10.00 merchandise gift card provided to the first 100 SPEEA members who can show proof of purchase of Mariners tickets to the Union Solidarity Night game on August 25, 2023.
07/13/2023 NW Adjusting the Budget for the MAC Committee It is moved the NW Council Treasurer on behalf of the Members Activities Committee requests that the fiscal year 2024 NW budget be amended to subtract $1,000.00 from line item 2.4.1, “Golf Tournament” and create new line item 2.4.8. for “100 Mariners merchandise gift cards”, for a total $1,000.00.
